About Dr. Joel Edionwe

Dr. Joel Edionwe was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, but considers himself a native Texan as he grew up in the Valley. He holds a medical degree from UTMB Galveston. He completed his residency training at UT Health San Antonio and a spine fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas. He also served a summer stint at Yale University, where he received training in anatomy, medical practices, and core biology.

Dr. Edionwe specializes in conservative non-operative care and surgical intervention in the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine, including decompressions, non-and-instrumented fusions, minimally invasive surgery, and general orthopedics. He believes his calling is to help others. He has volunteered at various organizations, including the Boys & Girls Club, local food banks, and medical mission trips. Dr. Edionwe is passionate about advancing spine research and innovation. He is committed to delivering excellence, compassion, and integrity while improving the lives of all his patients.

In his spare time, Dr. Edionwe enjoys the outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and spending time with his wife and family.
